Southern Indiana Muscle Recap: Gabrielle Leah Wright

For those that have no idea what that title meant, go back and read the first post that introduced distance-coaching client Gabrielle HERE.

As the first post explained, Gab was prepping for the Southern Indiana Muscle’s bikini division.

Well, she prepped…and she KILLED IT, placing 3rd in her very first show!!

To anyone who has stepped on stage, that is NOT an easy thing to do.

I tried to put in her head that she if she was getting on stage, she was getting on stage to WIN, and not just compete.

But honestly, having her step on stage was the victory…3rd place was a bonus!

She put in a brutal amount of work and it all paid off.  I’m pretty sure now she is hooked on competing!

It was pretty funny because I had the chance to be in Evansville the night before the show and as soon as I got to her place, she opened up her fridge to showcase the post-show goodies that included some form of ice cream cake and another Oreo thing.

Priorities!!

If you’ve ever competed, you know that what you are going to eat after the show takes up a good amount of head space because you haven’t eaten anything with flavor in many months.

Anyway, we got to the weigh-ins, where the plan for quite a while had been to have her compete in the novice division, considering it was her first show.

However, after hearing a few of the judges’ opinions and their explanation that you can’t qualify for any national shows in the novice class, we decided it would be best to have her just go for it and compete in the Collegiate and Open division.

Boom!!

It was the right call.  Because she more than held her own against those girls.

Sometimes you just need to take the risk and ignore the safe road!

Like I said, I think there are many shows ahead for her and I can’t wait to see her develop as a competitor!

If you are thinking about competing, but are afraid of making the commitment, reach out to her on her Facebook and Instagram pages (@gabriellewright13).

She may have looked like a pro on stage, but everyone has doubts in the beginning.  If anything, you definitely need to follow her progress!

Great work Gabrielle, looking forward to the next show!

So, I have a couple clients who want to do this, but I’ve never done it before. I searched the web looking for a certification in coaching for these competitions, but I couldn’t find anything. I’m confident in the even muscle development training, but I have no clue about the poses or strict diet ( timing, portion, type) that’s required for it. Do you possibly know of a certification for this?

    Thanks,
    She looks great!
